Berlin. StudyWorld 2011, the international fair for higher and continuing education, was brought to a close on Saturday, May 21 after two successful days of exhibitions. 8 629 visitors came to the Russisches Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur in Berlin to find out about study programmes and internships all over the world. 175 training providers from 25 countries presented their services to the visitors. They included universities and higher education institutions from Germany and abroad as well as exchange and internship placement organisations.
Silke Lieber, project leader of StudyWorld 2011, had the following to say about the event: “We are delighted that we were able to provide our visitors with such great variety again this year. Alongside German education institutions, a large number of international exhibitors were also present. In addition, we were able to attract new exhibitors and broaden the range of StudyWorld once again.”
The focus of the fair was “Studying in France”. Over 50 French universities, écoles, specialist colleges and further education institutions from all over the country presented their study programmes. The Studying in France / Campus France information service from the French embassy in Germany and the Franco-German University were partners of the core theme and answered questions on study opportunities, Franco-German study programmes as well as scholarship and funding options.
The seminar programme comprising 60 presentations provided information to 2 492 visitors on internships, education and careers. The individual seminars presented topics such as study opportunities and internships in Egypt, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Indonesia, Turkey and the USA.
The plans for the next StudyWorld are already under way. The 7th International Fair for Higher and Continuing Education will take place between May 11 and 12, 2012 in Berlin.
